ragbag: 6 hyperlinks of kevin bacon one of the diversions that has been keeping me sane while i await trial is an amusement i developed based on the 6 degrees of kevin bacon game. in my game, the veteran star is linked not just to other actors but with every known thing in the universe. to play, all you gotta do is start with the daily featured article on wikipædia and click as few links as possible to arrive at the wikipædia page of kevin norwood bacon. yesterday’s article was about the sms friedrich der grosse, a boring german warship that nobody cares about—but (wouldn’t you know it) kevin bacon was only a few clicks away. here is a narrative of my link voyage: sms friedrich der grosse was a german battleship, early models of which were vulnerable to attacks by torpedo boats, a famous example of which is motor torpedo boat pt-109 commanded by john f. kennedy who is the subject of the film jfk in which kevin bacon plays the roll of a gay prostitute. while i traditionally play this game with kevin bacon, other show business people named after pork products also work well. consider jon hamm and khadija al-salami—a yemeni film producer. at any rate, today’s wikipædia article of the day is about the northern pintail. if you can get from this duck to kevin bacon, hit me back via email or tumblr reply and i will say nice things about you in tomorrow’s post. i’ll also explain what i’ve been doing since june (hint: magnets).
